The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is actively participating in COP13/MOP36 and COP29, pivotal United Nations conferences addressing climate change. These events in Bangkok and Baku are platforms for promoting sustainable refrigeration solutions to combat climate change.
At COP13/MOP36 in Bangkok from October 28 to November 1, IIR led discussions on energy efficiency and natural refrigerants. The event "Advancing Energy Efficiency" on October 28 emphasized innovative cooling solutions to reduce energy demand and emissions. Another discussion on October 30 focused on overcoming barriers to adopting natural refrigerants in developing countries, addressing policy challenges and highlighting new technologies.
In November, at COP29 in Baku, IIR will co-host a round table on November 15 titled "Tracking Efficiency Progress in the Global South." This event will focus on monitoring energy efficiency advancements and evaluating governments' measures in addressing climate commitments.
These initiatives by IIR aim to promote sustainable practices in refrigeration, ensuring environmentally friendly solutions in the fight against climate change.
