IIR and IIAR Announce Joint Global Conference on Natural Refrigerants for 2027

The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) will collaborate to host a joint Natural Refrigerants Global Conference and Exhibition in Madrid, Spain, in the fall of 2027. This landmark event will be dedicated exclusively to natural refrigerant technologies, aiming to bridge the gap between academia and industry while fostering global partnerships.

The new conference will serve as a complement to the established IIAR Annual Natural Refrigeration Conference & Expo in the USA and the IIR's biennial Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Refrigerants, which is held in various global locations. Both events will continue independently, but the Madrid conference will combine their unique strengths into a unified global platform.

Bridging Gaps and Building Global Connections

This event aims to fill a critical need in the natural refrigerants sector, providing a forum where industry professionals, researchers, and academics can collaborate and exchange ideas. It will feature:

  • Technical Education Program: Presentations by global experts, focusing on the latest research and practical applications in natural refrigerants.
  • Innovative Exhibitions: Showcasing cutting-edge products and technologies that define the future of natural refrigeration.
  • Networking Opportunities: Bringing together professionals from across research, academia, and industry to drive innovation and business growth.

By hosting the event every two years in different IIR member countries, the organizers aim to provide a recurring platform for international collaboration and technological advancement.

Industry Input Needed

The organizers are seeking input from the refrigeration community to shape the event and ensure it meets the industry's needs. A survey has been launched to gather feedback, with participants encouraged to share their insights on topics of interest and event priorities.

“This joint initiative is an exciting opportunity to create a truly global platform where science, industry, and innovation converge to advance natural refrigerant-based technologies,” the organizers stated.

For more information and to provide feedback, stakeholders are invited to complete the online survey
