IIR Enhances Training for SophiA in Cameroon

From January 20 to 24, SophiA partners MINSANTE and 2iE organized a "Train the Trainers" workshop in Yaoundé, Cameroon, marking the second capacity-building session for SophiA trainers. The event brought together 20 participants from national universities and received support from the Cameroonian Ministry of Education.

The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) joined remotely, with Monique Baha highlighting the shift towards natural refrigerants in Africa due to the Kigali Amendment. This transition requires comprehensive training, standards, and regulations.

In collaboration with SophiA, the IIR plans to publish a policy brief on adopting natural refrigerants in Africa, including various case studies, by March 2025.
