RefriAmericas, the premier HVAC/R industry event for the Americas, celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Miami Airport Convention Center with groundbreaking success. The event saw a 40% increase in attendance compared to the previous year, drawing over 2,000 industry professionals globally. The tradeshow featured over 100 exhibitors from six countries and key organizations, such as Women in HVAC/R and ABRAVA, underscoring RefriAmericas' expanding global influence.
Raul Rios of Boreal International highlighted the event's success, stating, "RefriAmericas provides a space for us to connect with key targets, create new opportunities, and close deals."
This year, RefriAmericas introduced PFP Americas, a co-located conference and exhibition focusing on plumbing and fire protection systems. This expansion leveraged synergies between sectors, offering a comprehensive platform for professionals to explore the latest technologies and solutions in the building systems industry.
The academic program, a cornerstone of RefriAmericas, featured diverse presentations and workshops covering energy efficiency, decarbonization, artificial intelligence, refrigeration innovations, and automation. English-language presentations expanded accessibility for international attendees. Notable speakers included Gabriel Jiménez, CEO of HVAC Consulting; Darío Ibargüengoitia from IBALCAl; Alfredo Sotolongo, President of Protec, Inc.; Giovanni Barletta, President of ACAIRE; Jane Sidebottom, Board Member Women in HVAC/R; and Ginger Scoggins, PE, CEM, CxA, ASHRAE.

The CALA Awards recognized the One Roche Costa Rica Campus project as the Best HVAC/R Installation in Latin America. Managed by Multifrio S.A. and Refrigeración y Soluciones de Frío, the project stood out for its technological innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability, and advanced control systems. Other finalists included DISMEC SAS, Flutec, and Express Air, recognized for their performance and reliability.
A grand celebration commemorated two decades of RefriAmericas, providing a vibrant networking atmosphere and marking a significant milestone in the industry.
The 21st edition of RefriAmericas is scheduled for July 23-24, 2025, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Organizers are committed to fostering growth and collaboration within the HVAC/R and Plumbing and Fire Protection sectors throughout the Americas.
