Rheem unveils 2035 sustainability roadmap and product lineup at AHR Expo

At the 2026 AHR Expo, Rheem presented its 2035 Sustainability Roadmap alongside more than 15 new and enhanced HVAC and water heating products for residential and commercial applications.

The company’s leadership—President and CEO Chris Peel, COO Alex Housten, and SVP of Strategy and Sustainability Chee Wee Gan—announced updated goals under its A Greater Degree of Good initiative. These include reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 30% across the lifecycle of Rheem products, optimizing packaging to be 90% reusable, recyclable, compostable, or made of 50% recycled content, and maintaining zero waste to landfill across all factories and future acquisitions. Rheem also aims to reduce global waste intensity by 10% (ton/unit) and complete one million sustainability-related trainings globally.

Mike Branson, Rheem Global Air president and 2026 AHRI chairman, stated: “I am proud of the work the Rheem team is doing to promote sustainability because it sets a great example for the industry. In today's complex and fast-changing regulatory environment, Rheem now has a track record of surpassing its ambitious sustainability goals. As we head toward 2035, I'm confident that our team will be successful in this next phase of environmental stewardship.”

Rheem also participated in the educational program at AHR Expo. Chris Day, vice president of product strategy, marketing and training, spoke on recent trends in heat pump adoption across North America, citing improved affordability, broader application adaptability, and changing customer expectations.

The company’s new product showcase included technologies from brands such as Friedrich, Gibson, HTPG, IBC, Intertherm, and Raypak, as well as Rheem’s core Heating, Cooling, and Water Heating lines. New offerings include the Endeavor Line of residential heat pumps, ProTerra Hybrid Electric Heat Pump Water Heater, Renaissance Commercial Classic Plus Series, and Friedrich Breeze Universal Heat Pumps, among others.
