The AEFYT and ACTECIR Online Course on Flammable Refrigerants reaches its fifth edition

The refrigeration properties of flammable refrigerants create very attractive options for multiple types of refrigeration systems. For this reason, its treatment and its properties are the subject of the 5th edition of the Course on Refrigerating Installations with flammable Refrigerants by AEFYT, the Association of Refrigeration Companies and their Technologies, and ACTECIR, the Catalan Association of Energy, Climatization and Refrigeration. The training will be given online through the AEFYT virtual platform between May 17, 2021 and June 14, 2021, with a total of 20 teaching hours distributed in 5 sessions.

The course is aimed at design engineers of refrigeration facilities, heads of engineering, authorized refrigeration installers and those responsible for the maintenance and safety of companies that use cold, such as cold stores, ice factories, dairy industries, etc.

Throughout six topics, the course program takes an in-depth look at the characteristics of flammable gases and their properties and conditions of use, including design pressures and leak control. In addition, it deals with its handling, the design of the installation, applications and the determination of the risk and protection of equipment, among others.

“Within the wide range of refrigerants that we have available right now, those that are classified as flammable extend into multiple refrigeration applications. For this reason, the course on flammable refrigerants now reaches its fifth edition with the aim of keeping the knowledge of cold professionals fully up-to-date ”, said Manuel Lamúa, manager of AEFYT and director of the course.

The course will be taught by Ricardo Giménez, an engineer with great technical and teaching experience and professor of Industrial Refrigeration at the Clot Professional Technical School. In addition, he is a member of the RSIF Writing Working Group and the author of various publications related to refrigeration technology.
