Training on Efficient Cooling Systems Held in Lebanon

Cool Up’s regional partner, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), and country partner in Lebanon, the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC), organized a two-day training program focused on efficient cooling systems. As part of Cool Up’s capacity-building efforts, the training was based on the PA-CEMP (Pan Arab Certified Energy Management Professionals) curriculum developed by RCREEE.

Held on 9-10 July 2024 in Beirut, Lebanon, the training saw 40 participants gaining crucial knowledge and skills for designing and implementing energy-efficient cooling systems. The program concluded with a short evaluation exam, and participants received certificates of attendance.

Attendees included representatives from companies and organizations such as Trane Technologies, EcoConsulting, Free Energy, UNICEF, Energy Efficiency Group, UTECH, SEALCO – LG, Yeka Partners Company, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Pierre Dammous and Partners, World Wide Trader, and OTB Consulting and Industrial Research Institute.

The training covered the following key topics:
- Energy basics and efficiency
- Cooling systems and cycles
- Heat transfer and thermal energy management
- Energy audits
- Measurement and verification
- National policies in Lebanon

By using the PA-CEMP curriculum, the training ensured that participants received a standardized and high-quality education in these essential areas. The workshop aimed to empower attendees to make informed decisions in selecting, designing, and operating cooling systems, contributing to reduced energy consumption and environmental impact in Lebanon’s cooling sector.
