The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) OzonAction and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) will hold a joint webinar titled “Refrigeration at Every Scale: From Homes to Supermarkets” on 18 November 2025. The online event, scheduled from 14:00 to 15:00 (Paris time), will be streamed via Zoom and YouTube.
The session aims to promote sustainable refrigeration practices across residential, commercial, and professional applications. It will present key findings from the latest UNEP/IIR Cold Chain Technology Brief and provide a platform for dialogue among experts, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. Topics include small-scale refrigeration for households and businesses, supermarket refrigeration systems, and emerging technologies such as solid-state refrigeration.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Jim Curlin, Head of OzonAction. Speakers include Prof. Ji Hwan Jeong, Riley Bradley Barta, and Katja Klinar. The webinar will conclude with remarks from Yosr Allouche, Director General of IIR.
The event will be conducted in English, with French interpretation and Spanish subtitles. A live Q&A session will allow participants to engage directly with the speakers. The session supports global environmental goals aligned with the Kigali Amendment by addressing refrigerant emissions and energy efficiency.
