Research and Markets forecasts green data center market growth to $525.8 billion

AI workloads and cloud expansion are accelerating demand for liquid cooling, power management and low-impact data center infrastructure.

Research and Markets forecasts green data center market growth to $525.8 billion

Research and Markets has published a report forecasting that the global green data center market will grow from $83.81 billion in 2026 to $525.8 billion by 2035. The report covers cooling and HVAC systems alongside monitoring and management, networking, power systems, managed services and professional services.

The forecast represents a compound annual growth rate of 20.16%. According to the report, growth is being supported by increasing artificial intelligence workloads, expanding cloud infrastructure, stricter environmental regulations and corporate commitments to carbon reduction.

Liquid cooling, immersion cooling and closed-loop cooling systems are gaining momentum as AI and high-performance computing workloads increase power density. The report also identifies intelligent power management platforms and AI-driven infrastructure optimization tools as technologies used to improve power usage effectiveness, reduce water consumption and enhance operational resilience.

Microsoft is deploying closed-loop liquid cooling systems designed to reduce water consumption at next-generation AI data centers. The report says water conservation is becoming an operational priority as technology companies establish resource-management frameworks and adopt infrastructure designs intended to limit environmental impact.

High-potential areas identified in the report include renewable-powered facilities, liquid and immersion cooling, energy storage systems, microgrids, modular data centers and AI-enabled energy management platforms. North America currently accounts for the largest share of the global green data center market, while the report provides forecasts through 2035 across North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and the rest of the world.
