DDC Solutions, part of the Daikin Applied group, has opened an AI Cooling Showcase at the ScaleMatrix data center in San Diego. The operating facility allows customers and partners to observe an integrated cooling architecture under live, high-density GPU workloads.
The installation combines Daikin Applied’s facility-level chiller infrastructure, DDC Solutions’ rack containment and airside thermal management, and Chilldyne’s direct-to-chip liquid cooling. Cirrascale Cloud Services, an anchor tenant at the facility, runs active client AI workloads on the infrastructure.
The hybrid architecture manages heat at the facility, rack and chip levels. Direct-to-chip liquid cooling captures heat at the processor level, while the airside system addresses thermal loads from power distribution, storage, networking and chassis components.
The installation includes a DDC S-Series NEMA 3R-rated rack containment unit with physical containment, rack-level fire suppression and DCIM monitoring. Chilldyne’s negative-pressure coolant distribution unit draws air inward if a seal fails, rather than forcing coolant onto hardware. Daikin Applied’s chiller infrastructure provides the facility-level cooling backbone.
DDC Solutions also offers onsite training during scheduled visits. The course covers hybrid cooling architecture design, failure mode analysis, asset protection strategies and infrastructure planning for next-generation GPU density.
