New York Low-GWP Refrigerants Workshop

New York is one of a growing number of states who have committed to phase down Hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants (HFCs) as part of their larger climate goals. New regulations will impact supermarkets and grocery stores as early as 2020. What regulations will be put in place next? What are the benefits and challenges of low-GWP refrigerant options? Will there be negative energy implications?

This free, full-day workshop seeks to answer these questions and help supermarket stakeholders prepare for future refrigerant regulations. Attendees will hear from expert presenters who will provide a comprehensive overview of:

  • Low-GWP refrigerant solutions;

  • Latest natural refrigerant technology innovations;

  • Strategies to optimize energy efficiency;

  • Current and future funding to support low-GWP transition; and

  • Current and future New York refrigerant regulations.

Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to engage in the regulatory process and provide input on New York’s phase-down plan and New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will provide a status update on their proposed regulations.

This workshop will be attended by supermarket retailers, service contractors, equipment manufacturers & suppliers, government agencies, utilities, engineering & design firms, consultants, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
