Lineage, Inc., the world’s largest global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT, has opened a new cold storage facility in Hawke’s Bay, expanding its operations in one of New Zealand’s key food-producing regions.
Located at 48 Johnston Way in the Whakatu Industrial Park, the facility adds 5,500 pallet positions to Lineage’s existing campus in the area. The site offers multi-temperature storage capabilities to accommodate various customer requirements and is built to internationally recognised food safety standards. It is primarily designed to serve ZIWI, a pet food manufacturer.
Lineage marked the opening with a customer event in Napier, attended by representatives from food producers, exporters, project partners, local government, hapū, and the Lineage New Zealand team. A separate event was held on-site for the facility’s employees.
“This is an important step in our growth in New Zealand and the broader Asia-Pacific region,” said Brooke Miller, Lineage President for Asia Pacific. “Investing in infrastructure like this strengthens the resiliency of the supply chain and reinforces our long-term ability to support our customers and New Zealand’s role as a global food exporter.”
Lineage currently operates 26 facilities across New Zealand.
