NewCold opens automated cold storage facility near Warsaw

NewCold has launched operations at a new temperature-controlled logistics facility in Nowy Modlin, near Warsaw, Poland. The company invested €112 million (approx. USD 121 million) in the site, expanding its presence in the country and enhancing its European cold chain network.

The fully automated warehouse offers a storage capacity of 94,600 pallet positions, bringing NewCold’s total capacity in Poland to 207,200 pallet positions. The facility uses proprietary software that integrates with customer ERP systems, providing real-time visibility, traceability, and scalability across the supply chain.

According to the company, the energy-efficient design and advanced automation of the site contribute to long-term logistics infrastructure development in Poland. The site is expected to create around 90 new jobs.

“We’re growing in Poland, across Europe, and globally because we’ve had the foresight to build a future-proof food supply chain—powered by modern energy solutions, advanced automation, and a strong logistics network connecting strategic warehouse locations,” said Artur Spala, Operations Director CEE.

The Nowy Modlin facility follows NewCold’s recent investment in Kutno and supports the company’s strategy to build a more resilient and efficient food logistics system across Europe.
