TITAN Containers has introduced the ArcticStore Horizon, a new portable cold room designed to help reduce energy consumption by up to 55%. The unit targets industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and retail, where fluctuating energy costs are a growing concern.
The Denmark-based company developed ArcticStore Horizon in response to the cold storage sector’s push for lower energy usage and environmental impact. According to TITAN, the new unit achieves a 30% reduction in energy use through vacuum insulation panels (VIPs), while an integrated solar array adds up to 25% further savings.
ArcticStore Horizon includes SmartArctic, a remote monitoring and control platform that provides real-time access to the unit from any device. Each unit is also designed to reduce Global Warming Potential (GWP) from 2,140 to 0.5 and uses water-based paint instead of conventional oil-based coatings.
The product is intended for diverse applications, including Bio-Life Sciences, industrial catering, and temperature-controlled logistics. Its launch coincides with increasing global demand for cold storage, driven by trends in e-commerce, grocery delivery, and biopharmaceuticals requiring ultra-low temperature control.
“TITAN Containers' clients see energy for cold storage as a significant and growing cost, and our next-generation ArcticStore Horizon fundamentally changes the game by delivering up to 55% energy savings,” said Søren Skov Mogensen, CEO of TITAN Containers.
