Constellation Cold Logistics UK is completing a major expansion at its Estate Road 2 site in Grimsby, adding 37,000 pallet spaces of frozen storage. The development will increase the site’s total capacity to 52,000 pallet spaces, strengthening Grimsby’s role in the UK food logistics sector.
The 130,000 sq. ft (approx. 12,100 m²) facility was developed with support from the UK Seafood Infrastructure Scheme. It features fully frozen loading bays, mobile and static racking, a new energy-efficient refrigeration plant, and a solar PV system. According to the company, the infrastructure is designed to reduce Scope 3 emissions by over 50% compared to conventional facilities in the region.
The expansion includes a range of value-added services such as freezing, tempering, case picking, quality control, and repacking. These services are delivered by a local team, aimed at supporting customer growth in the food and seafood sectors.
Customers at the Grimsby site also gain access to Constellation’s wider pan-European cold storage network, which includes over one million pallet positions across 38 facilities in eight countries. The network supports groupage, full-load transport, and import/export logistics.
Constellation CEO Carlos Rodriguez said the company’s 2025 focus is on “laying the foundations for scalable, long-term growth – through stronger local operations, customer-driven innovation, and a more tightly integrated pan-European network.”
