Liebherr Appliances USA introduced two laboratory freezers for research, healthcare, pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial applications: the 10 cu. ft. SFFvh 5501 High-Performance Laboratory Freezer and the 14 cu. ft. SFFfg 5501 Flammable Materials Storage Freezer. The SFFvh 5501 is certified to ENERGY STAR 2.0, while the SFFfg 5501 supports compliance with applicable NFPA 45 and NFPA 99 requirements.
The SFFvh 5501 is designed for storage of samples and research materials requiring consistent low-temperature conditions. Its cooling system provides temperature uniformity and rapid temperature recovery after door openings, while the unit also incorporates controls intended for laboratory environments where stable storage conditions are required.
Energy efficiency is a central specification of the 10 cu. ft. model. Its ENERGY STAR 2.0 certification is intended to support lower energy consumption while maintaining temperature control and sample protection. The freezer also includes alarm and connectivity functions as part of Liebherr’s scientific cold-storage platform.
The 14 cu. ft. SFFfg 5501 targets laboratories storing temperature-sensitive flammable and volatile substances. It uses a spark-free interior configuration, with electrical components positioned outside the storage compartment to reduce potential ignition risks while maintaining stable storage temperatures. The model is intended for pharmaceutical, chemical and industrial laboratory applications and is designed around applicable NFPA 45 and NFPA 99 safety requirements.
Both models expand Liebherr’s Scientific and Healthcare freezer range with application-specific options for general laboratory storage and flammable materials. The new freezers are available and in stock through Liebherr’s Scientific authorized dealer network.
