ACT technologies on board Astrobotic’s Peregrine Lander

Advanced Cooling Technologies Inc. (ACT), a leading innovator in thermal management solutions, is thrilled to announce its participation in Astrobotic’s lunar landing mission aboard the Peregrine lander that launched early on Monday, January 8th 2024. This momentous event is marks a significant milestone for ACT, Astrobotic and the space community as a whole.

Astrobotic, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based space robotics company, has chosen ACT’s space heat pipe technology to play a vital role in their mission to return America to the moon and pave the way for future space endeavors. As a fellow Pennsylvania company, the collaboration between ACT and Astrobotic exemplifies the region’s commitment to engineering excellence, innovation and the growing space industry.

ACT’s thermal management solutions, known for their reliability and efficiency, play a crucial role in transporting heat from mission critical electronics to external heat rejection surfaces. These surfaces dissipate the heat to space.

The Peregrine lander, is carrying payloads to the lunar surface as part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative. This mission represents a significant step forward in the United States’ efforts to return to the moon and establish a sustainable presence. In addition to the mission critical thermal hardware, ACT and Astrobotic also collaborated to fly experimental thermal management hardware that can help qualify technology for future missions.
