AHRI Honors Industry Leaders and Confirms 2026 Board

At its 2025 Leadership Forum in Texas, the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) recognized key contributors to the HVACR and water heating industry and announced its leadership team for 2026.

AHRI presented three awards: the Richard C. Schulze Award, the Public Service Award, and the Distinguished Service Award. The Schulze Award was given to Ronnie Moffitt of Trane Technologies, Stephen Spletzer of The Chemours Company, and Matt Thornblad of Rheem Manufacturing Company for their long-standing commitment to advancing AHRI standards, research, and advocacy.

John Hazen White Jr., Executive Chairman of Taco, Inc., received the Public Service Award. He was recognized for his leadership in expanding Taco’s business, promoting industry advocacy, and supporting community initiatives through the Taco Family Foundation.

The Distinguished Service Award, AHRI’s highest honor, was presented posthumously to Brent Schroeder, former Chief Operating Officer and Head of Global Technologies at Emerson’s Climate Technologies Group. He held numerous leadership roles within AHRI and was instrumental in the transition of the Copeland business following its divestiture from Emerson.

The AHRI Nominating Committee also confirmed the association's 2026 officers. Mike Branson of Rheem Manufacturing Company will serve as Chairman. Other officers include R. Bruce Carnevale (Bradford White Corporation) and Holly Paeper (Trane Technologies) as Vice Chairmen, Kevin Beckett (R.W. Beckett) as Treasurer, and Megan Fellinger (Morrison Products) as Immediate Past Chairman.

The 2026 Board of Directors includes representatives from Danfoss, Bosch Thermotechnology Corporation, Hussmann Corporation, Cambridge Air Solutions, Lennox International, Carrier Corporation, Copeland, A.O. Smith Corporation, WaterFurnace International, and Daikin U.S. Corporation.

“It is especially important to recognize the leaders who drive growth and success in the HVACR and water heating industry,” said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. “AHRI congratulates this year’s award recipients, and we are very appreciative for their dedication and hard work.”
