Beijer Ref Nomination Committee proposes Per Bertland as new Board Chair

The Nomination Committee of Sweden-based Beijer Ref has proposed Per Bertland as the new Chair of the Board, following the announcement that current Chair Kate Swann will not stand for re-election at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

Kate Swann joined the Board in 2021 and has served as Chair during a period of transformation for the company, including its expansion into the US market through the acquisition of Heritage Distribution Holdings in 2022. She will remain in her position until the Annual General Meeting to support a smooth transition.

Per Bertland, former CEO of Beijer Ref, has been a Board member since 2021. During his tenure as CEO, the company expanded its international presence and achieved sustained profitable growth. He currently holds several board positions, including Chair of Dendera Holding AB, Inwido AB and InArea Group AB, and is a Board member of IV Produkt AB and Lindab AB.

According to the Nomination Committee, Bertland’s strategic insight, operational experience and long-standing involvement with Beijer Ref position him well to lead the Board in the company's next development phase.

Full details on the proposed leadership change will be included in the formal notice to the Annual General Meeting.
