Beijer Ref UK will open a new training academy in Glasgow on 6 November, expanding its network to three sites across the country. The launch supports the group’s strategy to provide accessible, high-level training for refrigeration and HVAC engineers throughout the UK.
Following the success of its Wetherby and Preston academies, the Glasgow facility aims to bring engineers within two hours of expert instruction. The launch event will take place from 12:00 to 16:00 and includes a buffet lunch. Lord William Haughey OBE, Chair of City Facilities Management, will officially open the academy.
The site features a range of training rigs for sustainable heating and cooling, including a renewable technology room with CO2 and A2L systems. It also includes a heat pump training area showcasing the latest products. A 25% discount will be offered on all training courses booked during the event.
Refrigeration and air conditioning knowledge competitions will be held at 14:00 and 15:00, with Apple Watches awarded to the winners.
“We are always striving to improve industry standards and Glasgow will join our other academies in providing high quality training on the latest systems,” said Hayley Cattell, Managing Director of Beijer Ref UK. “The ultimate target is for no engineer to be more than two hours away from expert guidance.”
