BITZER UK hosted the Institute of Refrigeration’s Women in RACHP (WiRACHP) Network for its first in-person meeting of 2025 at the company’s Milton Keynes headquarters. The all-day event gathered eight committee members for strategic planning, networking, and a facility tour.
The group, co-chaired by Samantha Buckell of BITZER UK and Astrid Prado of Star Refrigeration, used the meeting to outline initiatives for the coming year. Planned activities include a new career profile section on the IOR website, training days for non-engineering roles, and short Q&A sessions on topics such as neurodiversity and public speaking.
Discussions also focused on expanding outreach and promoting inclusivity in the refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump sector. BITZER UK’s central location and support were noted as key to facilitating the in-person event.
The visit included a guided tour of BITZER UK and Green Point UK, led by Managing Director Kevin Glass and Sales Director James Graham. Attendees observed the strip-down process of open-type screw compressors and reciprocating units.
“Seeing our compressors disassembled and serviced first-hand offers a unique perspective on the design and engineering that go into these refrigeration workhorses,” said Samantha Buckell, Co-Chair of WiRACHP. “It was a great day of team building and putting some exciting plans and actions into place for 2025.”
