Carrier Transicold Supports ACES Training with Refrigeration Equipment

Carrier Transicold has supplied transport refrigeration units and connected cold chain solutions to the Africa Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Cooling and Cold Chain (ACES) in Kigali, Rwanda. The delivery aims to support training programs and contribute to the development of sustainable cold chain systems in East Africa.

The donation includes a refrigerated box equipped with a Supra HE 6, a Citimax 280 Fresh unit, and telematics tools such as Carrier’s Lynx Fleet connected cold chain platform. The equipment enables trainees to gain practical experience with refrigeration systems, service procedures, and the use of digital monitoring for cargo safety and temperature management.

“The delivery of these refrigeration systems marks a significant milestone in Carrier Transicold’s collaboration with ACES,” said Victor Calvo, Vice President & General Manager, International Truck Trailer, Carrier Transicold.

Carrier Transicold has delivered approximately 450 hours of training, involving more than 65 participants. Training sessions held through ACES and a Specialized Outreach and Knowledge Establishment (SPOKE) event in Kenya covered refrigerated road transport, telematics, connected systems and distribution best practices.

“The availability of Carrier Transicold cold chain equipment and solutions on-site will further enhance our unique courses,” said Toby Peters, Centre for Sustainable Cooling Director and Professor of Cold Economy, University of Birmingham and Heriot-Watt University.
