Caverion Germany has been contracted to install the technical systems for ventilation, heating and cooling in Central Building II, a new hospital building for Klinikum St. Georg gGmbH in Saxony, Germany. The customer belongs to Caverion’s Public Sector client segment. The contract value is around EUR 13.6 million [approx. USD 14.8 million].
According to the project information, Central Building II is planned as a new hospital build with a gross floor area of 39,000 square meters (approx. 420,000 sq ft) over six stories. The building will house an emergency centre for children and adults, laboratories and inpatient wards, with a focus on energy-efficient and sustainable operation of the technical building systems.
To support indoor climate conditions, Caverion will install eleven ventilation systems with a total capacity of 100,000 m³/h (approx. 58,900 cfm) and 76 recirculating cooling units. The scope also includes the complete heating and cooling distribution for the new building.
Caverion said its work is scheduled to continue until the end of 2028. “We are able to bring our extensive experience in delivering technical building systems for complex hospital projects to this construction site - be it technical know-how, logistics for large construction sites or the necessary workforce”, says Manfred Simmet, CEO of Caverion Germany.
