Centrifugal Chillers Ensure Efficient Cooling for Brussels Office Tower

A prestigious office tower in Brussels has been equipped with three Daikin DWSC water-cooled centrifugal chillers, delivering a total cooling capacity of 5,700 kW. The installation provides reliable and energy-efficient cooling, ensuring optimal comfort and performance while maintaining cost-effective operation.

High-Efficiency Chiller Technology

The DWSC centrifugal chillers use R-513A refrigerant, which balances performance with a lower environmental impact. Designed for efficiency in both full- and part-load conditions, the chillers adapt to varying cooling demands. Their advanced inverter technology helps reduce energy consumption, minimise energy spikes, and extend system lifespan.

Smart Control and Monitoring

To enhance system reliability, the chillers are integrated with Daikin’s Microtech4 controller. This includes the Intelligent Chiller Manager (iCM©) for optimising multi-chiller operation and Daikin on Site (DoS) for remote monitoring. The real-time performance tracking allows for predictive maintenance, reducing the risk of downtime.

Customised Installation

The system was tailored to fit the specific requirements of the building. A knockdown electrical panel was used to accommodate a compact plant room, ensuring easier installation and maintenance. Additionally, flexible configuration options, including coil and motor variations, enabled precise capacity matching to avoid unnecessary oversizing.

Maintenance and Long-Term Performance

The chillers incorporate proactive maintenance features, such as refrigerant leak detection and continuous performance tracking through Daikin on Site. These tools help identify potential issues early, preventing costly repairs and ensuring long-term operational efficiency.

By integrating these energy-efficient and adaptable centrifugal chillers, the Brussels office tower benefits from a reliable cooling system designed to support both environmental and operational goals.
