CoilPod LLC Announces Partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to Improve HVACR Cooling Technology

CoilPod LLC, a developer in advanced cooling technologies, is excited to announce a partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to test CoilPod’s patented air pre-cleaning redesign for HVACR cooling condensers. This new technology approach aims to enhance the energy efficiency and longevity of refrigeration, air conditioning, and air source heat pump apparatus.

Enhanced Cooling Efficiency and Sustainability

This collaboration leverages ORNL's innovative testing capabilities and CoilPod LLC's expertise in cooling technology to address a pressing and largely challenge in the HVACR industry – the widespread fouling of condenser coils in cooling apparatus. Fouled condenser coils lead to increased energy consumption, higher maintenance costs, compromised equipment performance, and truncated equipment life. The innovative air pre-cleaning redesign developed by CoilPod LLC has the potential to substantially mitigate these issues by preventing the build-up of debris and contaminants on condenser coils.

Key Benefits of the Air Pre-Cleaning Redesign:

  • Improved Energy Efficiency: The technology reduces energy consumption by maintaining optimal condenser performance.

  • Extended Equipment Lifespan: By preventing fouling, the redesign helps extend the life of HVACR cooling apparatus.

  • Reduced Maintenance Costs: The need for frequent cleaning and maintenance is significantly decreased.

  • Environmental Impact: Enhanced efficiency and reduced energy usage contribute to lower carbon emissions, aligning with global sustainability goals.

A Strategic Partnership

The partnership with ORNL provides CoilPod LLC access to state-of-the-art facilities and a wealth of scientific expertise. This collaboration ensures that the air pre-cleaning technology is developed and assessed to the highest standards, paving the way for its potential widespread adoption in both commercial and residential applications for all HVACR cooling apparatus.

"We are thrilled to partner with Oak Ridge National Laboratory on this innovative project," said Jacob Steinmann, CEO of CoilPod LLC. "This collaboration underscores our commitment to advancing HVACR technology and delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions to our partners, stakeholders and customers."
