Copeland expands U.S. smart thermostat offering with Mysa partnership

Copeland has announced the expansion of its partnership with Canadian-based Mysa Smart Thermostats to the U.S. market. Following integration into Copeland’s Canadian portfolio, Mysa products will now complement the company’s Sensi smart thermostat line in the U.S., broadening options for energy-efficient control across a wider range of heating systems.

While Copeland’s Sensi thermostats support conventional HVAC and heat pump systems, Mysa’s technology is designed for in-floor, mini-split, and baseboard heating systems. The partnership enables Mysa to access Copeland’s U.S. wholesale HVACR and electrical distribution network, extending its reach to contractors serving homes with these specific heating systems.

According to Copeland, baseboard heating is still commonly used in many older U.S. homes, making the addition of Mysa products a strategic complement to its existing lineup. The Sensi portfolio currently includes over 23 million installed smart thermostats across the U.S., and has been shown to reduce HVAC energy consumption by approximately 23%. These devices can also be integrated into utility demand response programs.

Mysa thermostats offer features such as real-time energy usage monitoring, estimated heating cost tracking, and automated temperature alerts. Both Mysa and Sensi systems are compatible with major smart home platforms and allow users to manage settings remotely through mobile apps.

“Baseboard heating systems are commonly used in the U.S., particularly in older homes, so adding Mysa products to our smart thermostat portfolio allows us to provide more people with smart, sustainable thermostat solutions,” said Brendan O’Toole, vice-president smart home and energy management for Copeland.

“By expanding into the U.S. market in partnership with Copeland, we’re amplifying our ability to fight climate change on a much bigger scale – one smart thermostat at a time,” said Josh Green, CEO of Mysa.
