Daikin Invests in Advanced Composite Corporation for Lightweight Material Technology in HVAC&R
Daikin Industries, Ltd. has invested in Advanced Composite Corporation by underwriting a capital increase through a third-party share allocation. This strategic partnership aims to enhance HVAC&R equipment with lightweight and high-strength materials.

Advanced Composite, known for its aluminum-based metal matrix composites and metal joining technology, collaborates with Daikin to improve compressor performance - a crucial component in HVAC&R systems. These composites provide cast iron-like strength while retaining aluminum's lightweight qualities. Their molten metal forging technology ensures low-cost aluminum composite production, which Daikin plans to use for compressor parts, reducing weight and power consumption, leading to energy savings.

On July 1, 2024, Daikin established its Production Engineering Center to advance factory innovations and improve production process efficiency. This investment will bolster collaboration with Advanced Composite, focusing on joint development of unique materials, like aluminum composites, for HVAC&R products.

Since establishing the CVC Office in November 2019, Daikin has invested in over 20 startups globally, fostering technology advancements and solutions through open innovation. Daikin remains committed to building global partnerships to drive innovation.
