Danfoss Plate Heat Exchangers has announced the sale of its Dutch subsidiary, SONDEX B.V., to industry professionals Theo Thoen and Hans Ter Velde. The company, based in Purmerend, will now operate under the new name SD Heat Exchangers B.V.
The transaction includes all assets previously held by SONDEX B.V., including customer relationships and the Purmerend facility. According to Danfoss, the sale aligns with its strategy to strengthen distribution in the Benelux region by reinforcing its local presence.
“We have collaborated with them for many years and have great confidence in their deep industry expertise and understanding of the local market,” said Pierre Hultback, Head of Plate Heat Exchangers Sales at Danfoss.
SD Heat Exchangers B.V. will continue supplying Danfoss solutions, including brazed, gasketed, and welded heat exchangers. The company will also serve as the official assembly and authorized distributor partner for Danfoss in the region.
“We are excited to launch SD Heat Exchangers B.V. and continue providing Danfoss high-quality solutions,” said Hans Ter Velde, co-founder of the new company. “Our focus is on maintaining strong relationships with our customers and partners, while driving growth and innovation.”
The transition process is set to begin immediately and is expected to conclude by the end of 2025.
