Edged US opens 36 MW Arizona data center with waterless cooling

Edged US has opened a 36 MW data center in Mesa, Arizona, designed for AI training and inference workloads. The company said the facility uses ThermalWorks waterless cooling technology and is expected to conserve more than 138 million gallons of water annually in a region facing water supply pressure.

According to the company, the site supports compute densities of more than 400 kW per rack with plug-and-play liquid cooling and more than 120 kW per rack with air cooling. Edged US said the facility was built to serve the Southwest technology corridor and provide critical capacity for high-performance and AI-driven workloads.

The company said the facility’s modular design delivers an average portfolio-wide Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.15, compared with the global average PUE of 1.54 reported by the Uptime Institute. Light Source Communications was identified as the first network provider to build into the site, providing fiber connectivity.

“Given Arizona’s water pressures, building a data center that requires zero water for cooling isn't just good business. It’s the right thing to do for the region’s long-term health,” said Bryant Farland, President and Chief Executive Officer of Edged US.

Edged US said it has a gigawatt-scale project pipeline and data centers operating or under construction across North America, including in Atlanta, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Kansas City and Phoenix.
