One of the green examples is the SPAR Express store opened last year in Zurich, Switzerland. The store operates with a Freor Hydroloop Hybrid refrigeration system and propane-based refrigeration equipment.
A Measured Decision
A retailer needs to measure every decision carefully when planning the store layout. The right solutions can pay off with lasting benefits. Significant savings can be made by setting up a sustainable, energy-efficient refrigeration system.
With that in mind, Spar Express chose the
Freor Hydroloop Hybrid refrigeration system combined with hydrocarbon-operated integral cabinets. At the store, the waterloop system connects vertical refrigerated cabinets JUPITER, PLUTON SPACE, and a freezer ERIDA, all operating on natural refrigerant propane R290.
It is not only a green technology but also a great commercial refrigeration choice in terms of energy-saving and cost-effectiveness. The closed-cycle system operates with water – propylene glycol solution, which collects excess refrigeration heat and transfers it either outside (in the warm season) or uses it to heat the store premises (in the cold season). The store manager can switch between regimes making significant savings in electricity consumption, as the excess condensation heat is under full control. This solution is perfect for convenience stores, discounters, and smaller supermarkets.
To gain more energy-savings, open display cabinets JUPITER and PLUTON SPACE have front glass packets installed, which help save up to 15% of energy and also have the advantage of acting as an advertising space for promotional messages. Company Freor Schweiz AGperformed the installation.
