Enex Technologies Launches Scope 4 Emissions Tracker at SIFA 2024

Enex Technologies, a European leader in sustainable HVACR solutions, unveiled its Scope 4 emissions counter during the final day of the SIFA 2024 exhibition, solidifying its commitment to decarbonization on the eve of COP29’s conclusion.

As the only European Climate Tech provider utilizing all natural refrigerants—ammonia, CO2, propane, and water—Enex Technologies aims to redefine the refrigeration and HVAC industry by integrating sustainability into every facet of its operations.

Scope 4: A New Benchmark in Emissions Tracking
First introduced by the World Resources Institute in 2013, Scope 4 emissions, or "avoided emissions," focus on the environmental benefits achieved through a product or service. Unlike traditional emissions categories (Scope 1, 2, and 3), Scope 4 highlights the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions facilitated by innovative technologies like those pioneered by Enex.

Enex’s proprietary Scope 4 emissions counter, now accessible on its website, provides quarterly updates, showcasing the tangible impact of its low-GWP products and the replacement of conventional, environmentally harmful systems. Since its inception in 2004, Enex has contributed to over 1.1 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions savings.

Pioneering Sustainability in HVACR

Enex Technologies’ presence at SIFA 2024 underscored its alignment with COP29’s three strategic pillars:

  1. Mitigation – Enex’s advanced refrigeration systems leverage natural refrigerants to significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions, supporting global climate change mitigation efforts.
  2. Adaptation – Engineered for resilience, Enex’s systems adapt seamlessly to diverse climates and operational demands, ensuring efficiency and reliability in changing environmental conditions.
  3. Finance – By offering cost-effective, sustainable solutions, Enex empowers businesses to make environmentally responsible choices that are also financially viable.

A Vision for the Future

François Audo, CEO of Enex Technologies, emphasized the broader implications of the company’s innovations:

“Our participation in SIFA 2024 is a pivotal moment to share our vision and solutions that align with global climate goals. HVACR is essential to electrification, and our Scope 4 emissions tracker demonstrates how we can make a tangible impact alongside our partners and clients.”

This milestone follows Enex Technologies’ 2024 achievements, including its first double materiality analysis, the Ecovadis “Committed” Badge, and adherence to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

With its new Sustainability Policy and a robust ESG roadmap, Enex Technologies is poised to lead the HVACR industry into a sustainable future, ensuring that its innovations continue to drive meaningful change across its value chain.
