Eurovent Certification became a corporate member of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), further aligning with global efforts to advance sustainable practices in the refrigeration sector.
The IIR, also known as L’Institut international du froid (IIF), is an independent intergovernmental organisation that promotes the development and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge across refrigeration fields, including food and health cold chains, air conditioning, cryogenics, and heat pumps.
Founded in 1908, the IIR supports international collaboration through working groups, commissions, and events, aiming to foster innovation and reduce environmental impact. The Institute serves as a neutral platform for research exchange and technical recommendations across the refrigeration industry.
As a corporate member, Eurovent Certification gains access to IIR’s global network, research publications, and expert forums. The membership offers participation in IIR activities, including conferences and working groups, enhancing visibility within the international HVACR community.
According to the statement, both Eurovent Certification and the IIR share a commitment to promoting energy-efficient technologies and supporting the transition to low-GWP refrigerants, contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and improved environmental standards.
