Fajne Potraviny Store Energy Efficiency Improvement with Hydroloop Hybrid WPI System

The Fajne Potraviny team was impressed by the outstanding energy efficiency results achieved through the use of Hydroloop cooling system from FREOR at the previously implemented supermarket in Košice. As a result, they have decided to choose FREOR commercial refrigeration equipment to renovate the Fajne Potraviny store in Cassovar supermarket with Hydroloop Hybrid WPI system due to the high energy costs.

Hydroloop cooling system is an affordable and energy-efficient system that connects multiple plug-in refrigerators and/or cold rooms to a glycol condensing system, allowing excess heat from condensation reuse for the store’s needs. The system offers a variety of options to meet the customers’ needs, one of which is an energy-efficient and space-saving solution for smaller stores – Hydroloop Hybrid WPI system, which Fajne Potraviny chose for the renovation of their store.

Hydroloop Hybrid WPI is a waterloop technology that eliminates the need for the main pump station since each refrigeration appliance contains an integrated small-sized circulatory water pump, saving space in the store. The high-efficiency water pumps work alongside the compressors for up to 16 hours a day, unlike the traditional Hydroloop system’s main pump station that runs constantly. This results in a significant reduction of about 30% in energy consumption.

The system also allows combining two different heat removal systems with the possibility to switch between emitting the heat directly into the shop via an air condenser mounted in the equipment (in the winter) or removing it from the shop via a glycol line to the outside (in the summer). Therefore, it allows the heating of the shop when needed, guaranteeing easy reuse of excess heat for the store needs and lowering its overall energy consumption.

Using natural propane gas refrigerant (R290), the system, combined with innovative Continuous Cooling technology, which was implemented in refrigeration equipment, can improve energy efficiency by up to 70%. These significant energy efficiency results were the reason Fajne Potraviny chose FREOR.

FREOR implemented the renovated Fajne Potraviny store with the most popular JUPITER multidecks and adapted them to the client’s needs by lowering the front height – JUPITER LOW FRONT. Almost all multidecks were chosen with glass doors for better energy consumption, and just one opened version for fruits and vegetables presentation with an additional front glass packet for better energy efficiency. Additionally, the store was equipped with ERIDA upright freezers and VEGA SPACE QB HG serve-overs. The equipment features LED lighting and energy-saving electronically commutated fans, effectively reducing energy consumption. All implemented refrigeration equipment was connected to an energy-efficient Hydroloop Hybrid WPI cooling system.
