GEA has launched a new assembly line for reciprocating compressor packages at its site in Izmir, Turkey, aiming to improve delivery times to customers in Turkey and neighboring CIS countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The new line expands GEA’s existing service and repair operations at the site, adding over 800 square meters of assembly space. Upgrades include a 15-ton crane, welding and assembly fixtures, and a dedicated pressure testing room. A new training room has also been installed to provide technical training on compressor assembly and maintenance for staff and partners.
The Izmir facility is certified to ISO 9001 standards, and all welding processes follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) certification, verified by an accredited inspection body. These certifications ensure compliance with international quality and safety benchmarks.
GEA’s reciprocating compressor packages are used in cooling applications across sectors such as food, dairy, beverage, cold storage, and data centers. The Izmir site supports faster regional delivery while using more local suppliers to reduce import reliance and enhance supply chain resilience.
