ebm‑papst wins German Sustainability Award for oil-free turbo compressor

The ebm‑papst Group has received the German Sustainability Award Products 2026 in the “Climate” category for its oil-free turbo compressor, CompaNamic.

According to the award jury, CompaNamic enhances the efficiency and resource-saving performance of heat pumps and refrigeration systems. As a key component in heating and cooling technology, the compressor contributes to energy savings, climate protection, and the circular economy. The jury highlighted the product’s life cycle impact, including its oil-free operation, use of natural refrigerant propane, and exclusion of PFAS compounds. These features improve energy efficiency and simplify end-of-life disposal.

“This award confirms the success of our ‘Innovation for Growth’ strategy. It encourages us to continue this path and demonstrates how our disruptive technologies actively contribute to a better future,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tomas Smetana, CTO of the ebm‑papst Group. “I would like to thank the highly motivated, creative, and focused team that drives our mission of innovation-driven growth in harmony with sustainability every day with passion!”

ebm‑papst previously received the German Sustainability Award in 2013 and was recognized again in the “Motors and Turbines” category in 2025.
