The sessions are held at Green Point’s facility in Milton Keynes and focus on real-world servicing challenges. Engineers engage directly with compressors to understand common faults, assess component damage, and determine when in-field repair is feasible versus when a remanufactured replacement is needed.
Training topics include issues such as oil level controls and valve plates, with guidance on diagnosing wear and component failure. The program also includes demonstrations of the strip-down and remanufacturing process, illustrating how compressors are restored to BITZER standards.
The initiative has already been piloted with several customers, including Ernest West & Beynon. Andrei Stefancu, Technical Director at Ernest West & Beynon, said: “This visit provided invaluable hands-on experience with the complete servicing of both screw and piston compressor technologies. We were particularly impressed by Green Point’s extensive technical knowledge and rigorous procedures.”
Will Pribyl, General Manager at Green Point UK, said: “Our aim is to demystify the compressor and give engineers the skills and confidence to make repairs on site, where possible.”
