Hisense Celebrates Groundbreaking VRF Lighthouse Factory Recognition

Hisense has achieved a significant milestone with its Qingdao Factory being named the first "Lighthouse Factory" in the VRF industry by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This prestigious accolade underscores Hisense's role in pioneering advanced manufacturing in the global sector.

The Qingdao Factory integrates cutting-edge 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, enabling agile R&D, flexible production, and swift delivery processes. It has implemented over 40 advanced manufacturing scenarios, including more than 20 industry-first technologies, resulting in a 37% increase in product development speed, a 49% improvement in labor productivity, and a 35% reduction in production costs.

Hisense's innovative use of machine vision, AI algorithms, and equipment interconnection has addressed over 20 automation challenges. The factory features the first "dark" production workshop for heat exchangers, adaptive welding, and unmanned packaging. These advancements have boosted labor efficiency by 63% and cut welding defects by 57%.

In logistics, Hisense introduced overhead cranes, enhancing efficiency within the VRF industry. The company's supply chain now operates on an AI-driven, end-to-end intelligent decision-making system. Using AR and VR technology, employee training has become more intuitive and effective.

The factory employs a KPI-driven digital twin operation platform for real-time management and IoT technology for precise energy use. These measures, along with AI intelligent control for high-energy equipment, have led to a 38% reduction in energy consumption.

According to Ms. Kiva Allgood from the WEF Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, lighthouse factories are setting new standards for digital transformation, promoting efficiency and sustainability.
