Hitema Develops Compact Soundproofing System for Low-Noise Chillers

Hitema International has announced the development of a new soundproofing system for chillers, designed to reduce noise emissions by up to 10 dB beyond current standard solutions. The system is aimed at applications such as data centers and industrial facilities where noise control and space optimization are critical.

The new soundproofing solution builds upon existing methods, including compressor jackets, soundproof compressor enclosures, and low-noise fan nozzles. According to Hitema, the added noise reduction represents a significant improvement in acoustic performance.

One of the main challenges in industrial noise management is the space required to isolate equipment. Many installations rely on dedicated rooms to contain chiller noise, but this approach can be impractical in environments with limited space. Hitema’s system addresses this issue by offering a compact alternative that uses up to one-third of the space compared to traditional acoustic rooms.

In addition to its reduced footprint, the soundproofing system is designed for ease of maintenance. The removable panels allow quick access to internal components, helping technicians carry out service operations without dismantling a fixed structure. This feature is intended to streamline maintenance and minimize system downtime.

The company highlighted that the new system also shortens installation time, as it eliminates the need for custom-built enclosures. Hitema has not yet announced a release date for the product.
