Honeywell Unveils INNCOM Direct Energy Management System for Mid-Market Hotels

Honeywell announced the launch of INNCOM Direct, a straightforward energy management system designed to enhance energy efficiency in mid-market hotel properties through automation. The introduction of INNCOM Direct aligns with Honeywell's strategic focus on three critical megatrends: automation, energy transition, and sustainability.

By the year 2024, it is projected that over 30% of U.S. hotel rooms could be vacant at any given time. INNCOM Direct enables hotels to manage energy-intensive HVAC systems more efficiently during these periods. This system was previously accessible only to high-end hotel operators; now, it offers mid-market or limited-service hotels an affordable solution with features such as quick setup and comprehensive portfolio analytics. These can be accessed from mobile devices or a dashboard and used for single properties or entire portfolios.

INNCOM Direct uses a proprietary detection system to identify unoccupied spaces and autonomously adjusts the temperature to save energy, ensuring no compromise on consumer comfort. When guest rooms are unoccupied, the system sets them to an eco-friendlier temperature, which is automatically adjusted to a more comfortable setting upon the guest's return or check-in.

Halifax Hospitality adopted INNCOM Direct during the construction of its fifth hotel in Spring Hill, Tenn., seeking to control HVAC use, which can account for up to 25% of utility costs. This hotel spans 92,000 square feet and features 159 rooms, doubling the size of its previous developments and leading to increased operational expenses.

Honeywell's INNCOM Direct represents a significant advancement in energy management technology, providing mid-market hotels with an opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint and operational costs through intelligent automation.
