Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. has broken ground on a new manufacturing facility at Qiaotou Science Park in Taiwan. The company plans to invest up to NT$3.25 billion (approximately US$100 million) in the site, its largest capital investment to date, with production potentially starting in 2027.
The facility will cover approximately 4.69 hectares (11.6 acres) and be developed in multiple phases. Phase I encompasses about half of the total site area and will prioritize manufacturing lines for next-generation thermal management solutions and energy-related products serving the energy-transition and AI sectors.
Kaori said the site’s production capacity and footprint, once fully built out, will exceed those of all its existing facilities combined. The hub will support the company’s heat exchanger, thermal management and fuel cell technology businesses.
The project is being carried out with the Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau, Cheng Yu-Chin Architects & Associates and Ding Cheng Construction Co., Ltd. Full completion is targeted for the end of 2028, while Kaori is evaluating phased commissioning that could bring production forward to 2027.
Designed in accordance with green-building standards, the facility will include rooftop solar photovoltaic systems, renewable energy sources, green spaces and ecological landscaping. Kaori expects the completed project to create hundreds of local jobs.
“Qiaotou Science Park marks a transformational milestone for Kaori and underscores our confidence in the Company’s future growth trajectory,” said Chairman Chih-Hsiung Wu.
