Midea Completes Acquisition of ARBONIA Climate for €760 Million

Midea Group has finalized its acquisition of ARBONIA climate, a division of ARBONIA AG, for an enterprise value of €760 million. The deal, announced on February 26, 2025, strengthens Midea’s position in the European HVAC market.

Following the acquisition, Midea will integrate ARBONIA climate with Clivet S.p.A., which it acquired in 2016, to form a new entity called MBT Climate. This combined structure will enhance Midea’s ability to offer comprehensive heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy storage solutions across Europe.

ARBONIA climate employs more than 3,000 people and specializes in sustainable heating and cooling systems, energy storage, ventilation, and air treatment. It includes system brands such as KERMI, PROLUX, SABIANA, and VASCO, along with focused brands including arbonia, Britec, Brugman, Cicsa, PZP, Solius, Superia, Tecna, and Termovent.

Midea Group, a Fortune Global 500 company for nine consecutive years, operates in over 200 countries and regions, with 33 R&D centers and 43 major manufacturing bases worldwide. The company specializes in smart home technologies, industrial and building technology, robotics and automation, healthcare, and logistics.

The establishment of MBT Climate highlights Midea’s commitment to expanding its global reach.
