MOPIA has joined the REAL Alternatives as national lead on training for Canada

REAL Alternatives, the international programme for low GWP alternatives technician training, is delighted to announce that MOPIA, the Manitoba Ozone Protection Industry Association, has joined the group as national lead on REAL Alternatives training for Canada.
MOPIA is a government-appointed multi-stakeholder organization established to foster environmental protection and mitigate climate change. MOPIA works closely with industry and already has a range of technician training options. Mark Miller, Executive Director, comments “MOPIA is looking forward to bringing the REAL Alternatives low GWP refrigerants training to its portfolio of training services for installers across Canada”.

On behalf of the REAL Alternatives team, Marco Buoni, REAL Alternatives ambassador, added “MOPIA is joining the team at a very exciting time. As the refrigeration and air conditioning world is moving rapidly towards the more widespread adoption of the range of low GWP alternatives now available, our global commitment to safety, reliability, efficiency and lowering the environmental impact of cooling activities is demonstrated by the growing number of countries adopting this comprehensive practical and theory training”.
The REAL Alternatives programme now includes 20 countries in our team of National Leads spread across the globe and 17 language versions. The REAL Alternatives approach to low GWP refrigerant training offers blended learning resources covering flammables and carbon dioxide. This includes free on line theory training for self-study supported by class room teaching and assessment resources for use by licensed training providers. Technicians completing the full programme via one of the licenced training providers can achieve a REAL Alternatives Certificate.
