Munters has inaugurated a new flagship facility for desiccant dehumidification products in Amesbury, Massachusetts, USA. The 430,000 ft² (approx. 40,000 m²) site also includes the company’s service business and will manufacture climate control solutions for the North American market.
The investment supports Munters’ long-term strategy to double in size and reduce its climate footprint by 50% by 2030. The new facility is designed to increase production capacity, optimize workflows, and enhance service delivery in key target markets.
The site integrates sustainable technologies, including electrified processes, energy efficiency upgrades, and the use of renewable electricity such as a rooftop solar array. Munters reports that these measures contribute to a more sustainable operation and an improved workplace environment.
“I am very pleased that the facility is in place. The inauguration is an important step in our long-term growth strategy and climate ambitions, where we are investing in regional production for regional markets,” said Henrik Teiwik, President of the AirTech business area.
The facility accommodates nearly 350 employees across operations, R&D, sales, service, and administration functions.
“We set out to design and build a new facility that would be an enhanced environment for our employees, be attractive for new talent, and better for our business overall,” said Andrew Cook, Senior Vice President Americas, AirTech business area. “We’re very proud of this facility, and we couldn’t have accomplished it without the support from the City of Amesbury.”
