REAL Alternatives held trainer and stakeholder events in Poland

From 6 to 10 October 2025, PROZON – the Foundation for Climate Protection and a founding partner of REAL Alternatives – hosted a Train-the-Trainer event at its headquarters in Warsaw, Poland.

Trainers from Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, and Turkey took part in a week of intensive sessions focused on flammable refrigerants, carbon dioxide (CO2), and ammonia (NH3). The training aimed to align methodologies, strengthen technical knowledge, and ensure a consistent delivery of REAL Alternatives materials across Europe.

On 6 October, PROZON also hosted the REAL Alternatives Stakeholder Meeting. Representatives from National Leads discussed the future of the project and emphasized the need to expand training content on ammonia systems, in response to the EU Implementing Act 2024/2215 and the national implementation requirements.

The meeting followed the recent deadline of 29 September for the submission and notification of national certification schemes under the EU Implementing Act. With only a few countries meeting the official requirements, participants underlined the importance of continued cooperation and knowledge sharing to support implementation across Europe.

Two new members joined the REAL Alternatives network: LCETB from Ireland as a new National Lead, and INSU AB from Sweden as an Official Training Provider.

Both the training and stakeholder events reflected the partnership’s ongoing commitment to a safe and skill-based transition to lower-GWP refrigerants.
