thermofin is expanding its production capacities in Europe

thermofin GmbH, based in Heinsdorfergrund, Vogtland, is setting the course for the future. The manufacturer of heat exchangers for industrial and commercial applications is expanding its production capacities in Europe. A new production hall for in-house sheet metal production and powder coating is being built at the company's German headquarters. In Złotoryja (Goldberg), Poland, production capacity is more than doubled.

The company, which was founded in 2002, is making the structural changes to accommodate the rapid growth of the past and prepare itself for the challenges of the future. General Manager Bernd Löffler explains the reasons: "In order to best meet the requirements of our customers, we want to advance the specialisation of our European locations. In Germany, we are focussing on material-intensive large units and will manufacture smaller units such as our new commercial series at our Polish plant."

thermofin expects the expansions and investments to significantly increase efficiency, which will primarily benefit customers. In addition to increasing capacity and quality control, the specialisation and optimisation of production is primarily aimed at shortening delivery times.

To this end, in-house sheet metal production at the main plant is being significantly expanded. A new fully automated production line provides customised sheet metal parts exactly when they are needed. Downstream of the sheet metal centre, the subsequent powder coating process will also be converted to a highly automated system in order to further increase vertical integration and production efficiency.

"The new building in Heinsdorfergrund will also allow us to expand our research and development area. We are also enlarging and modernising the offices and social areas," says Bernd Löffler. The preparatory construction work at the headquarters is already in full swing. Construction of the hall will begin after the winter.

At thermofin Poland, construction is nearing completion and the new production lines will go into operation in the spring. In future, thermofin will manufacture the series for commercial refrigeration here in order to be able to offer heat exchangers for supermarkets and small food businesses with the shortest possible delivery times. Two thermofin heat pumps will be used to heat the Polish plant.
