Trane opens North Carolina HVAC training center

Trane Technologies has opened the Trane Advanced Technology Training Center at its North America headquarters in North Carolina, US. The company said the 45,000-square-foot (approx. 4,180 m2) facility is the largest and most technologically advanced HVAC training center of its kind in the world and is designed to support the future commercial HVAC technician workforce.

The center has capacity for up to 4,500 students per year and more than 100,000 annual training hours. Trane Technologies said it will provide hands-on training for technicians to commission, maintain, repair, and optimize climate control systems.

The ATTC offers multiple learning pathways that combine in-person laboratory instruction with e-learning modules. According to the company, the facility is intended to support technicians at every career stage and expand access to training across the United States.

Trane Technologies said the launch follows more than $50 million in investments in 2024 and 2025 in the ATTC and an engineering and R&D lab for compressor development testing and full-scale chiller performance evaluation. The new center adds to the company’s existing technician training programs in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

“The launch of the ATTC represents an important investment in the future of our industry,” said Holly Paeper, President, Commercial HVAC Americas, Trane Technologies. “As building systems become more connected, more efficient, and more sophisticated, the expertise required to service them continues to grow.”
