The 20th MOON-TECH Cup China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry University Student Technology Competition concluded on July 22 in Yantai, China. The event brought together student teams from 31 universities and focused on applying artificial intelligence to refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies.
Hosted by the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, the competition was organised by Tianjin University of Commerce and co-organised by MOON-TECH. It also received support from two Ministry of Education teaching committees and special support from the United Nations Development Programme.
Marking its 20th anniversary, the competition adopted the theme “AI+ Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technologies.” Projects were assessed in graduate and undergraduate divisions based on innovation, technical feasibility, commercialisation potential and on-site presentation performance.
The programme also included a “From Competition to Factory” visit to MOON-TECH’s intelligent manufacturing headquarters. Teachers and students observed component machining, automated assembly, complete-unit performance testing, heating and cooling systems, and integrated refrigeration equipment.
According to the organisers, the competition is intended to strengthen cooperation among industry, universities and research institutions while supporting talent development for the refrigeration sector’s intelligent and low-carbon transition. MOON-TECH said it plans to continue using the event to connect academic projects with industrial requirements.
