Svenja Keppler, a standout graduate from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA), received the Valerius Füner Prize for her exceptional bachelor's degree in refrigeration, air conditioning, and environmental technology. The award was presented at the BITZER trade fair stand during Chillventa in Nuremberg.

The prize, sponsored by THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, was awarded by Christiane Schaufler-Münch from BITZER. Svenja's thesis focused on a novel method for end-of-line heat pump testing. She plans to continue her studies with a master's program at HKA and will join the ‘International Refrigeration and Compressor Course’ summer school.

Benjamin Sowa also received the Peter Huber Prize for his excellence in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on energy efficiency in the refrigeration field.

Rainer Große-Kracht, BITZER's CTO, emphasized the crucial role of well-trained young professionals in driving industry advancements and contributing to decarbonization efforts. HKA's courses support this mission by cultivating qualified professionals for the sector.

The Valerius Füner Prize, established in 1982, annually recognizes top graduates in mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration and air conditioning at HKA, continuing the legacy of Professor Valerius Füner, a pioneer in refrigeration education.
