Ziehl-Abegg will invest an additional €90 million in machinery, tooling and production capacity across Europe, the United States and Asia. The expansion is intended to meet growing demand for fans used in AI data centres, building ventilation, heat pumps and refrigeration applications.
The funding is additional to capital expenditure already planned and will support new machinery, tooling and production equipment. Ziehl-Abegg said the programme is among the largest investment initiatives in its history and aims to ensure the long-term supply of energy-efficient fans and drive systems.
Existing facilities are operating at high utilisation levels. The company has established conditions for round-the-clock three-shift production in the United States, while several German sites are operating continuously, including weekend shifts. Its plant in China has operated on a three-shift basis since autumn 2025.
The capacity expansion is designed to support growth in future-oriented markets while maintaining reliable supply for existing customers. Ziehl-Abegg manufactures fans, electric motors and control systems.
“We are seeing highly dynamic growth across our global markets,” said Joachim Ley, Chief Executive Officer of Ziehl-Abegg. “Demand from the AI data centre sector is increasing particularly rapidly. At the same time, we are experiencing strong growth in applications related to building ventilation, heat pumps and refrigeration.”
