Global Refrigerants Market Assessed in 2025 Industry Evaluation Report

The latest "Refrigerants - Company Evaluation Report" by Research and Markets ranks Honeywell International Inc., The Chemours Company, and Linde plc among the top global players in the refrigerants market. The evaluation, based on revenue, geographic presence, product portfolio, and strategic initiatives, identifies 14 leading companies out of over 40 assessed worldwide.

Market growth is driven by increasing demand for consumer appliances, especially in the Asia Pacific region, and the expansion of the pharmaceutical sector. However, regulatory pressures on fluorocarbon-based refrigerants and safety concerns related to flammability and toxicity remain key challenges. The report categorizes refrigerants by type—HFCs, HFOs, ammonia, CO2, isobutane, propane, and others—and by application in refrigeration systems, chillers, air conditioning, and mobile air conditioning.

Honeywell maintains a strong global footprint with 715 sites, including 194 manufacturing facilities, and operates its refrigerants business under the Performance Materials and Technologies division. The company enhances its position through technology development, regulatory-compliant product launches, and partnerships.

The Chemours Company focuses on refrigeration and air conditioning solutions through its Freon and Opteon brands. Chemours continues to invest in production capacity and strategic collaborations to address global demand for sustainable refrigerants.

Linde plc, a key industrial gas manufacturer, leverages innovation and geographic expansion to strengthen its position in the refrigerants market. The company’s diversified approach targets evolving industry needs and reinforces its global competitiveness.

Other major companies analyzed include Arkema, Dongyue Group, Sinochem Hong Kong, Daikin, Orbia, AGC Inc., and A-Gas International.

The report provides a strategic overview for industry stakeholders navigating market developments, technological disruptions, and environmental regulations.
